Established in 2018, APO's Children's Outreach Tour has traveled to elementary schools in rural areas to share high-quality music education in areas where children's music programs have been reduced or eliminated. In November 2020, APO offered a live, virtual tour to over 7,500 students at 150 schools in 12 states. APO again offered a live, virtual tour for educators to use in the classroom so that APO can continue to connect with schools in spite of COVID-19 restrictions. Ten broadcasts were presented over the course of one week to over 225 schools in 44 states at no cost to the schools.
APO broadcasted their performance of the classic "The Pied Piper," featuring songs from the Great American Songbook that are performed by Broadway actors and professional musicians. Each performance will include a live talkback session with actors and musicians, allowing for the students to interact in real-time with the artists and musicians.
These free interactive children's programs were offered to all private and public schools across the county. This opportunity gives students the chance to experience and learn about professional performances, as well as interact with and learn directly from the musicians and artists.
